Do you work in confined spaces...? do you know what a confined space actually is?...within the Regulations a confined space is defined as:
‘...any place including any chamber, tank, vat, silo, pit, trench, pipe, sewer, flew, well or other similar space which by virtue of its enclosed nature, there arises a reasonably foreseeable specified risk...’
Of course if a particular type of space that you may work in is not mentioned above, it doesn't mean it is not a confined space. Therefore if your employees are working in spaces which fall under the definition or interpretation, then you are responsible to ensure that they are aware and trained to a satisfactory level. An ideal course intended for asbestos removal contractors, supervisors and operatives and general maintenance trades who require a basic level of understanding of the hazards of confined spaces, it is also suitable for those employees who may require refresher training.
