Here are some comments from our existing clients about the benefits of asbestos awareness through distance learning:

Electrical ‘solutions’ contractor – Peterborough

within 24 hours of contacting The Asbestos Specialists we had our packs delivered, the contents were well laid out and easy to understand. We completed our course over our spare time at the weekend; this was good as didn’t lose any downtime on a very busy local authority contract. Because we ordered over 5 packs we also got a good discount, an excellent way of complying with what our client wanted, definitely recommend it to any small business out there

HVAC Engineers – Lancashire

we considered in-house training for our staff, but the costs were prohibitive, we only employ 4 engineers, The Asbestos Specialists distance learning scheme was an ideal alternative, overall a very useful way of gaining awareness on asbestos in buildings.

Drainage Contractor – North London

it was important to get the guys through an awareness course as we needed it for a large contract. We contacted The Asbestos Specialists to discuss getting them through it......they suggested that distance learning was the most suitable method due to the timescale and low numbers, we done the course during a health and safety session in less than 3 hours, it worked really well, the guys really took to it!

Self employed plasterer – North East

I was told I had to have asbestos awareness training, I work on my own and couldn’t afford the time off or the cost of some courses out there. I did consider e-learning, but to be honest, I know nothing about computers. I ordered the distance learning pack from The Asbestos Specialists; I then actually completed the course at home. It was an easy way to learn about asbestos and of course I got the certificate I needed, thoroughly recommend it

Plumbing and heating specialist – Essex

we are a small company who only employ 3 engineers, we cant afford to send our lads to costly training sessions, which takes them off site as well as incurring travelling time. After speaking with the training advisers at Asbestos Specialists they suggested we tried the distance learning. Cost effective, quick and more convenient for us without a doubt! We had the course delivered, completed and certificates issued in the same week, we would recommend this method for any small business or self employed sub-contractors

The Asbestos Specialists are the first UK training provider to offer asbestos awareness through distance learning.

Others follow, but we lead the way once again! Our well-established procedures ensure your orders are dealt with quickly and efficiently. From as little as £35.00 per person!

Why choose distance learning?

  • Cost benefit and easy payment – huge cost savings and quick easy payment for the smaller business or self employed saving you on in-house training for small numbers.
  • No Travel Expenses - never leave your workshop, depot or office at any time to complete distance learning.
  • Convenience - undertake the courses when you need them
  • Better for Some Learners – better for people who require more time, are language-challenged, or introverted.
  • Flexibility - you decide when you or your employees complete the study and end test.

You or your employees can gain a ‘certificate in asbestos awareness’ by self-learning or team/toolbox talk learning using the UK Asbestos Specialists asbestos awareness and asbestos awareness refresher distance learning scheme. Already a popular choice of many small to medium sized businesses and the self employed UK wide.

Designed to compliment the HSE’s ‘hidden killer campaign’ and well suited for those who require the training but cannot afford costly and time consuming in-house or venue training courses.

The UKASL Distance Learning Scheme can provide a fully flexible way of learning allowing the applicant to train at your own pace, whenever and wherever necessary, eliminating the costly travel, accommodation and consultant expenses.

Did you know?

Asbestos awareness training is not legally required to be 'refreshed' every year. The HSE have publicly stated that it is not a legal requirement to have an expiry date on an asbestos awareness certificate!... we recommend that you 'review' your training to ensure that your employees are kept aware of the hazards of asbestos... distance learning or e-learning is the perfect way of doing this!
