The Regulations reflect requirements set out in the European Union Asbestos Workers’ Protection Directive. The new Regulations now include the duty that employers shall provide appropriate training for all workers who are likely to be exposed to asbestos.
This course is suitable for scaffolding Supervisors whose employers hold a valid HSE licence to carry out ancillary works with asbestos removal contractors. This course provides scaffolders with knowledge and understanding of asbestos, the risks from asbestos, and ACM’s in buildings and precautions to be taken when carrying out works ancillary to asbestos removal contracts. Course content is delivered via theory and practical training methods (when applicable). The training will be carried out in accordance with the Health and Safety Executive document HSG 247 ‘chapter 4’ (modules 20-23).

Monitoring of site conditions
Working Asbestos Enclosures
Types and uses of PPE
Types and uses of RPE
Decontamination and transit procedures
Emergency procedures for dealing with accidental exposure
