If you are an employer, self employed person or a worker who is carrying out maintenance or refurbishment work in any building which has materials within it, or on it that are likely to contain any type of asbestos…..and you are likely to disturb, handle, remove or drill into these materials, then you must by law undergo an un-licensed works with asbestos training course to comply with the HSE legal requirements. ‘How will you know if the building does or does not contain asbestos’…? Simple! The building owner must have had samples taken of them as part of a survey to find this out; your employer must have or request this information before you start work. This course is a one day course.
Did you know?
Over 95% of all materials that used asbestos fall into the category of lower risk materials? which means you don’t have to use an HSE licensed contractor for removal or disposal.
